Get Focused With Contacts

If you're hooked on contact lenses, returning to framed reading glasses to deal with the fine print wasn't expected. Bifocal contacts may be one answer.

Sight experts at he Contact Lens Council say such contacts also help correct presbyopia, or far-sightedness -- a natural occurrence of aging.

Several types of the varying lensed contacts are available. A "segmented" lens provides alternate vision or simultaneous vision while monovision lenses correct one eye for distance vision, the other for near vision.

A council spokesman says a thorough eye examination by an optometrist is needed to determine whether such contact options will work for you.
