Everyday Foods to Keep You Healthy

There are many wonderful natural whole foods that are good for our health. In times of stress it is very important to pay extra attention to a healthy diet. One of the foods that has always been a food promote for health is the apple and since apples are coming in season now might be a good time to focus on the merits of the apple which has been the center of legends, folklore, and even religion for thousands of years.
No doubt you have heard the phrase,” an apple a day will keep the doctor away”? But did you know that the Turks gave the apple the power of restoring youth? This is because apples are packed full of nutrients that help the body to grow and stay strong. The apple has been around for so long that it has been called the first fruit. Apples contain many important nutrients that help the body to stay strong and vital. Apples are a natural alkaline food, which means they act to stabilize the acid in your body and bring the chemistry of the body into balance.
As we age bowel functioning, calcium absorption, and blood pressure are some of our concerns.
Apples naturally support bowel function because they are an eliminating food. Apples contain pectin, which has the ability to take up excess water in the intestines and make a soft bulk that acts as a mild nonirritating stimulant. This stimulant aides in normal bowel functioning.
Apples contain a generous amount of calcium and this calcium aids the digestive system in absorbing calcium from other foods. Therefore apples help us to keep strong bones and teeth.
Apples are natural blood purifiers. They help to keep blood pressure under control and to purify the blood.
Apples are not the magic pill for staying young, but they are packed full of rich nutrients. It’s important to remember that staying young and fit is not so much about what not to eat as it is about what to eat. Therefore an apple a day may not completely keep the doctor away, but it will help to keep you healthy and fit. So my tip for the week is to do as the Turks; eat apples to stay young and fit.
If the stress of the current state of the world has you spinning remember not to neglect your health. Eat a good diet, exercise, get plenty of rest and have fun.
