Occupational Hazard

During a field trip to a farm, a class of school children stops at a pen holding sheep.

One of the children asks the shepherd, "How many sheep do you have?"

"I don't know," the shepherd replies.

"But if they are yours, why don't you know?" the student asks.

"Well," says the shepherd, "every time I start to count them, I fall asleep."
