Shampoo for Swimmers

Hey All, What a great site! I wanted to share a great product I found recently. My 12-year-old dd is on the swim team and her hair was starting to look like green straw. While surfing the net looking for something to help, I came across a site called Aubrey Organics. They have a shampoo called Swimmers Normalizing Shampoo. It's a little spendy ($10) but it really worked wonders on Myra's hair. I also like it because it is totally organic and doesn't have any harmful chemicals. Here's the website address: http://www.aubrey-organics.com/product1.cfm?product_id=072&cat=6&subcat=40 (Hope this link works! If it doesn't, just go to www.aubrey-organics.com and its listed under hair care products. CarolT

It's All About the Hair!

Welcome to ThirdAge's Hair group! Here nothing is off-limits. We'll talk frizz, we'll talk horrible haircuts, we'll talk fabulous products, and we'll talk at-home treatments. To start, I welcome you to share your hair nightmares, great products, tips, and techniques, and ask questions about your most pressing hair-care issues. Over the years, I've developed my own haircare system, and I think it's working pretty well. Of course, genetics probably has something to do with my limited strands of gray, as well as how well my hair has (so far!) maintained its luster, but I'd like to think that the time and effort I've taken in figuring out what suits me best -- in terms of products, daily care, and habits -- has paid off.

Gray-haired & Looking Great

Gray-haired & Looking Great

Going gray gave Chazz Levi a glamorous second career. Four years after she swore off hair dye, she was recruited by a major modeling agency.

"I started getting gray hair at 18," recalls Levi, now 45. "I was getting more and more gray. To cover up, I went from dark brown to red to blond." Because her hair is straight and she didn't have bangs, new growth was immediately apparent. So finally, on her 40th birthday, she gave up the bottle.

Amazing Grays

There may be causes to dye for, but gray hair isn't one of them.

Stylists and fashion consultants agree that natural changes in
coloration--from salt-and-pepper blends to solid silver--lend
themselves to striking, sexy looks. It's important to remember,
however, that changes in wardrobe and make-up may be necessary in order
for newly gray women to look their best.
