Mind Over Matter

I'm currently going through a particularly hard time in my life. I don't hate my job, but I don't love it either. It wouldn't be so bad if I worked with people that I liked. My colleagues are two-faced to me, appearing friendly but bad mouth me to my boss. I just want to quit, because this environment is really stressing me out, but I don't want them to get this upper hand over me. What should I do?

Dealing with depression

My husband has been rather depressed lately. I think he's tired of working (and I don't blame him) and I have a feeling he's a little bored with his day-to-day routine. I'm trying to help by being loving and supportive. I've even surprised him a few times with special dates and gifts. We have a really great relationships, and it pains me to see him like this. I've suggested that maybe it might be beneficial to speak with a therapist or see his doctor. He's hesitant. I want to be sure to nip this in the bud before it gets out of control for him and for our relationship. What should I do? Anyone else have spouses who are struggling with depression?

Brenda recognizes the role both play in her life. "Stress and anxiety aren't necessarily pleasant company," she says, "but sometimes they teach me a lot about myself and about being out of balance or incongruent. In that case I can call them friends. Stress and Anxiety? Yes...been there, done that, and made the silly T-shirt...LOL. But learned a lot and still growing."
