"Just within the last year and a half I have developed what is called "dowager's hump." My doctor says that I have osteopina (I think that's what he called it), which is not full-blown osteoporosis, but is bone diminishment. Are there any exercises that can get rid of this, or is it just something that you have to live with? I am on hormone-replacement therapy, and I take calcium supplements, but it may not be enough to take care of the problem ... " -- S.

A member responds: "I have just purchased a book called "Strong Women, Strong Bones" by Miriam E. Nelson Ph.D. and Sara Wernick Ph.D. ... It includes chapters about diet, bone-boosting workouts, medication and lots more. From what I can see so far, it looks very good ... [I] will certainly be following the exercise routine. Hope this is of some help." -- V.
