Surprise and Adventure in Bed

Advice to men who want to please their women in bed: Don't keep doing things the same boring old way, says sex researcher Ollie Quain. Try a dose of surprise, mixed with a bit of adventure.

"Sex when we're least expecting it, especially if we haven't been feeling very alluring, is a winner," says Quain, writing for Britain's Shine magazine. And exude a little confidence: "Nervously asking, 'Is this OK?' after every single lick and twiddle is very likely to result in the answer, 'I'm afraid I get more turned on when my spaniel greets me after work'."

Quain says men should know that a little research goes a long way. "Get stuck into those men's magazine sex manuals, and don't be shy to try something new." And know what works and what doesn't: "Dinner and two bottles of wine will get us in the mood -- candlelight, incense and six volumes of 'The Love Album' won't."

Be responsive. "Knowing that you're satisfied will make our enjoyment much more intense," says Quain. And last but not least, be adventurous, because "if you carry on with the same old kiss-squeeze-sex routine, you may be put on the bench and replaced with a better player."
