We can't turn back the clock, but beauty and fashion firms are busily working to slow it down a little. The latest weapon in the fight against the years is a concoction a French company says can attack wrinkles.

Laboratoires Caudalie of Paris calls its product a "time machine tablet," containing a powerful cocktail of chemicals, including those found in red wine. The Oligomeric Pro Anthocyanidolic (OPC) capsules blitz the body with antioxidants to fight the skin damage caused by pollution, sunlight and cigarette smoke.

Managing director Matilde Thomas says "inevitably with time, your skin begins to show the first tangible signs of aging and general wear and tear, and these symptoms are exacerbated by exposure to ultraviolet rays from the sun and periods of stress. The OPC capsules act as 'time machine tablets' that simultaneously delay wrinkles and promote vitality in the skin."

According to London beauty and health expert John von Radowitz, the OPC capsules, which mop up the harmful molecules popularly known as "free radicals," can also repair cell walls and blood vessels. The primrose oil among the ingredients has been shown to alleviate premenstrual and menopausal symptoms.
