Sleep and Lose Pounds?

Possible to shed unwanted poundage while you sleep? Some users of a new food supplement called Calorad claim it can indeed be done -- and they are throwing away their newly outsized clothes to prove it.

Calorad is a mixture of demineralized water, collagen, aloe vera, vegetal glycerine and peach flavor. Its makers claim it can "help the body to utilize fat and sugar effectively," without the bother of calorie counting, restricted diet or exercise. And it supposedly does the job while the weight-loser is slumbering.

Calorad Web site recommends a tablespoonful of Calorad on an empty stomach -- no food or drink, other than water, for at least three hours -- before hitting the sack. It supposedly works during the first 45 to 90 minutes of sleep, when the body is in "delta sleep," repairing and rebuilding itself.

One user claimed to have lost 18 pounds on the Calorad course. But Jane McKenzie, a design company owner, says she has dropped nearly 30 pounds and has "gone down two dress sizes" -- and she is aiming to sleep off another 15 pounds.
