Skipping is Good for You

There's a way to skip your daily run or walk and still get a good workout. Check out iskip.com and see that skipping is a great form of exercise that raises your heart rate and your spirits.
Skipping is less strenuous than running. It's a lot more fun and burns more calories than many forms of exercise. And devoted skippers believe running comes from our fight or flight reflex, whereas skipping comes from a place of happiness and joy.
Remember how fun it was to skip as a kid? Why did we stop? According to iskip.com, "maybe for the same reasons that most adults quit giggling to themselves, splashing in rain puddles, or staying in awe of life's simple pleasures."
Skipping pops into the spotlight now and then -- singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette skips in concert and two-time Olympic runner Suzy Hamilton skips to loosen up before running. This month there are mass skipping events planned for New York's Central Park and the Golden Gate in San Francisco.
