An Orgasm That's All in the Mind

By Dr. P. Sándor Gardos

QUESTION: Can you have an orgasm just by thinking of something or someone?

ANSWER: Yes . . . and it sounds like you are one of the rare, lucky women who have this ability! Rutgers University has confirmed that at least a small number of women are indeed able to have an orgasm through fantasy alone. It is sometimes known as "thinking off," and there was an entire book written about the topic by Gina Ogden.

How does it work? No one knows for sure. But just as orgasms produced by masturbation don't differ physiologically from those during intercourse, thinking-induced orgasms appear to not be a fundamentally different kind. So, I would say count yourself among the lucky ones!
