Do you believe your pet is worthy of a global audience? Your very own Fido or Fluffy can be selected for (drum roll, please) Pet of the Day.

Everyday, a Pet of the Day is chosen from photos submitted by animal lovers everywhere. There's also a Dog of the Day and Cat of the Day, but judges don't stick with the mainstream to make their decisions.

Recent winners include Stubby the ball python, Basil the parakeet (budgie), Curly the pig, Max the umbrella cockatoo, Sir Delaware the Egyptian Arabian horse and Derrick the Japanese fire-bellied newt. The archives date back to September 1997, so if you like looking at close-ups of pets, you'll love this site.
