Night Cream Key to Skin Care

Good skin care requires a daily routine -- no less important when going to bed. British skin care specialist Bonnie Estridge says those hours between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. are key because "skin repair is at its optimum while you sleep."

So it's worth investing in the right "night" cream, she says. These are formulated "to renew, repair, and nourish," while many day creams contain substances and protective properties that "are not suitable for use at night."

Estridge recommends a cream that nourishes with antioxidants or enzymes. Vitamins A, C, and E are considered alleviators of free-radical scavengers that damage and age the skin, and are considered the best types for night use.

Night creams that contain these antioxidants can repair damage from pollution. Lighter products, such as serum or gel, can also be used at night to repair and nourish.
