Munchkins to Mark Judy's Day
Three of the actors who portrayed Munchkins in "The Wizard of Oz" will be on hand to mingle with guests at the Judy Garland Children's Museum's 23rd annual festival next week in Grand Rapids, Minn.
Those who can't follow the yellow brick road to Minnesota can browse the museum shop online for offerings of Oz books, dolls and hand-blown glass tree ornaments of favorite characters.
Old-fashioned 1919 root beer will be served at the opening ceremony at Judy's home, the restored two-bedroom house where she spent her early childhood. Special guests include actress June Allyson, and Judy's children, Lorna and Joe Luft.
Oz Movie historian Aljean Harmetz will talk about the making of the movie and show rare special effects clips.
