So your nose is a bit too, well, noticeable, and you think a change is in order? It may not be necessary to head straight for the cosmetic surgeon, says London beauty expert Bonnie Estridge. A bit of talent with the makeup kit could take care of things nicely.

To make a big nose smaller, she suggests, use a finger or a flat-edged brush to apply shader down both sides of the nose from the bridge to the nostrils. "Then blend shader over the nostrils and onto the tip, making sure there are no 'dirty-looking' marks."

Then run a line of highlighter from the bridge down to the tip of the nose and blend it in well to erase any fine lines. "Once you have perfected this technique," says Estridge, "your nose will definitely look slimmer."

To shorten a long nose, she suggests applying shader to the tip and blending for a softer appearance. And "don't wear your hair coming forward in a curtain onto the face, as this just makes the nose a focal point," Estridge adds. "Instead, take the hair back slightly and have graduated layers to frame the face."
