Little Things Mean a Lot
A little bit of love goes a long way.
Remember those days when you used to write S.W.A.K. ("sealed with a kiss") on envelopes with sweetheart notes? It was a way to show your feelings, and even in later life, such little gestures can mean a lot, says sexologist Helen Adams.
"It boosts your love life to explore different ways of getting the message across," Adams says in She magazine. "Letting your partner know you desire them in ways that aren't verbal or sexual can be a great aphrodisiac."
She suggests that penning a love note "can also help you resolve tensions" because it's a good way to get their undivided attention. "If you are trying to discuss something, the other person often won't listen properly, but by writing 'I'm sorry I upset you, but I think you are behaving a little unreasonably, too,' you are more likely to get their full attention."
Adams says another way to enhance your intimate relationship is to take up a team activity, such as playing a sport together. "New activities with your partner can have the effect of revving up your sex life."
