Intoxicating Love

After work, a man asks a coworker friend to help him repair the deck at his home. Once their office closes, the friend goes with the man straight to his house.

When they get to the door, the friend notices that the man gives his wife a hug and tells her how beautiful she is and how much he missed her at work. At supper, he compliments his wife on her cooking, kisses her and tells her how much he loves her.

Once they are working on the deck, the friend says he's surprised that the man fusses so much over his wife. The man replies that he'd started doing that about six months before and it had revived their marriage. Things couldn't be better.

As they finish the project, the friend realizes he, too, could be more loving and complimentary toward his wife. When he gets home, he gives his wife a massive hug, kisses her and tells her that he loves her. His wife bursts into tears.

The fellow is confused. "Why are you crying?" he asks.

"This is the worst day of my life," the wife says between sobs. "First, little Billy fell off his bike and twisted his ankle. Then, the washing machine broke and flooded the basement. And now, you come home drunk!"
