A spokesman for GT Interactive says its new HomeStyles Virtual Home CD-ROM lets you wander through 30 best-selling home plans with interior, exterior and landscaping views from every angle.
More than 20 of the homes on the tour are photo-realistic computer models. Users also can tap into a database of 3,500 home plans -- 500 previously unpublished -- by America's top architects and designers.
The database is searchable by such criteria as budget and lifestyle needs, square footage, style, and desired number of bedrooms and baths. Users can tag and print comprehensive summaries of their favorite plans and estimate building costs based on where they live by using the HomeStyles budget calculator. The program sells for $39.95.
