Career women and homemaking women have differing views on sex.
And women's roles and attitudes have changed drastically over the years. An article on The Changing Sexual Attitudes and Behaviors of Women looks at the different ways career women and homemakers view sex.
The SOLO for Singles article quotes extensively from a 1993 Janus Report on Sexual Behavior that concluded that women who work outside the home have a personal sense of identity that sets them apart from women who work in the home, and that identity transfers over to their sex lives.
The Janus report found career women no longer relate to the stereotypical sexual roles that have been assigned to them in the past. That means men no longer decide when and how to have sex; instead, "the couple decides together."
The report found homemakers increasing their sexual activity more than career women over the past two decades. The authors assumed that more homemakers than career women were in "ongoing monogamous relationships."
