Good Smelling Leads to Sex

I smell you and I want you.

If a whiff of your beloved leaves you weak in the knees, it might be due to more than simple love. According to a study by the Indiana University Psychology Department and the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction, men's cologne enhances sexual arousal among women.

The study followed 33 women between the ages of 19 and 45 who sniffed different scents while watching an erotic video or fantasizing about a pleasant sexual experience. The women wore necklaces laced with men's cologne, a women's fragrance, or no odor at all.

The researchers found the male fragrance led to the highest arousal levels during the fantasies. None of the fragrances was found to affect arousal during the video.

The study was funded by the Olfactory Research Fund Ltd. "This study signifies the need to develop an entirely new specialty, the sexology of fragrance," said Avery Gilbert, the fund's scientific affairs director.
