Finding Romance at Divorce Central

Healing the emotional trauma of divorce and opening the door to romance takes time and support from friends. You might find some help at Divorce Central, which bills itself as a "one stop service and support site" for the divorced and the divorcing.

Divorce Central is launching its DC Community as a secure online gathering place where you can commiserate, share experiences, make friends and perhaps find new romance. Pamela Weintraub, one of the founders of Divorce Central, says that after providing in-depth information for divorcees, she felt the site needed a "deeper layer."

Weintraub envisions the DC Community will include a core group of verified, registered members who are looking for support and a grassroots home on the Web. Resources include a paging system, bulletin boards and mailing lists dealing with dating after divorce and other topics.

The two main chat areas are the "New Dawn Cafe" -- a place to meet and mingle -- and "The Steam Room" where you can vent your anger at an ex-spouse or lawyer. DC Community also will host a biweekly live "Expert Online" show and make transcripts available later on the site.
