E-Mail Scrabble? No Cheating!
Ah, those seven-letter bonuses! But playing Scrabble over e-mail? Bookmark Hasbro's E-Mail Games interactive site and watch for the electronic version to appear this week.
The game company's e-mail games look just like PC games and if you don't like to download them onto your computer -- which takes about 10 minutes on a 28K modem, half that on a 56K -- you can buy them at computer stores and install them at home.
The Scrabble game can be sent as an e-mail attachment or as an e-mail itself. The attachment, of course, adds a little spice to your correspondence. Your partner does not have to buy the game but is required to download a small part of the software that enables him/her to respond to your moves.
A free sampler lets you play about 10 moves before a flag pops up asking you for $14.95. If you just can't trust yourself to be honest with Scrabble, Hasbro has also announced that it will soon have a Master's Chess game available.
