Dot Out the Spinach

It's more than a little gauche to be swirling a toothpick in your mouth as you make the rounds of a cocktail or holiday party. But, then again, it could be even a bigger faux pas to brighten the party with a smile marred by a piece of spinach between your teeth.

The answer could be new Dental Dots, a take-with-you-anywhere, disposable fingertip toothbrush. Available in drug stores for about $5 for a package of 18, Dental Dots could be a must-buy on a party host's shopping list.

Each Dental Dot is a dime-size pad of soft nylon loops with pre-applied fluoride toothpaste backed with an adhesive. You simply need to find the bathroom and quickly brush away any unsightly food.

The toothpaste is not harmful if swallowed and Dental Dots meet all federal regulatory standards. Dental Dots can be used by children over age 6 who know how to brush their teeth. The dots are recommended by the American Dental Association as an adjunct to your oral hygiene regimen.
