Diana Ross on the Move
Diana Ross' newest album -- the 62d of her career -- is climbing the charts. Its title, "Every Day is a New Day" also is the singer's philosophy of living.
"Time goes by too quickly," she says. "You can't live in the past tense and rest on what you've done before. You have to move on."
The announcement of Ross' return to the studio coincided with her announcement of the end of her 13-year marriage to Norwegian shipping magnate Arne Naess. "Sometimes change is not that bad," she says. "Every life has its rough spots -- mine included."
Her newest endeavor updates her sound by pairing her with several edgy young songwriters and is described by Billboard as a "mix of lush ballads, sensual midtempo jams and dance floor-ready moments. Ross feels it's the best material she's had a chance to sing in a long time.
